Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("you", "user") and HUIO ("HUIO", "we", "us"), operated from Lima, Peru. By creating an account, accessing, or using the HUIO website, applications, APIs, and related services (the "Services"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

HUIO is an AI-powered translation and multilingual communication platform. The Services let you submit text and conversations for machine translation between languages, manage translation history, and collaborate across language barriers. Features and supported languages may evolve over time.

You must be at least 14 years old, or the minimum age required to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction, to use the Services. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at legal@huioapp.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

• HUIO offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans renew automatically for successive billing periods until cancelled.
• Pricing, included usage limits, and feature availability for each plan are described in the Services and may change with reasonable notice for future billing periods.
• Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider. By subscribing you authorize recurring charges to your selected payment method.
• Except where required by applicable law, fees are non-refundable. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Taxes may be added based on your billing location and applicable law.

You agree to use the Services lawfully and responsibly. You will not:

• Use the Services for any illegal, fraudulent, or harmful activity.
• Submit content that infringes intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights, or that is defamatory, obscene, hateful, or otherwise unlawful.
• Use the Services to send spam, unsolicited messages, phishing content, malware, or any other malicious payload.
• Scrape, crawl, harvest, or otherwise extract data from the Services using automated means, except via documented APIs and within stated rate limits.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code or model weights from the Services, except to the extent permitted by applicable law.
• Resell, sublicense, white-label, or otherwise redistribute the Services or their output without prior written permission from HUIO.
• Circumvent usage limits, authentication, billing, or security controls, or interfere with other users' enjoyment of the Services.
• Use the Services to generate content that exploits minors, promotes violence, or violates applicable export-control or sanctions laws.

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Services, in whole or in part, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, created risk or legal exposure for HUIO or other users, or engaged in abusive behavior. Where appropriate, we will give you an opportunity to remedy the issue.

You may terminate your account at any time from your account settings or by contacting legal@huioapp.com. Upon termination, your right to use the Services ends and outstanding fees remain due. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

The Services, including software, designs, models, trademarks, and documentation, are owned by HUIO or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, HUIO grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Services for your internal purposes.

You retain ownership of the text and content you submit ("Your Content"). You grant HUIO a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, transmit, and display Your Content solely to operate, secure, and improve the Services and to deliver translations to you. We will not sell Your Content. Translation outputs are provided to you; you are responsible for how you use them.

We strive to keep the Services available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Services may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, third-party outages, or events outside our reasonable control. We are not liable for any loss resulting from downtime or interruptions.

HUIO uses large language models and other AI systems to generate translations. AI translations may contain errors, omissions, cultural misinterpretations, or inaccuracies, and quality can vary by language pair, domain, and context. You should not rely on AI-generated translations for legal, medical, financial, safety-critical, or other high-stakes decisions without independent professional review. You are solely responsible for verifying translations before relying on them.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HUIO, its directors, employees, and providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of the Services, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. HUIO's total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the Services will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid HUIO in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD 100.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless HUIO and its affiliates from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Services, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

The Services rely on third-party providers, including hosting, authentication, AI model inference, and payment processing. Your use of the Services may be subject to those providers' terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

We may modify the Services or these Terms at any time. When changes are material we will provide reasonable notice, for example by email or in-product notification. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Peru, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Lima, Cercado, Peru, except where mandatory local consumer-protection laws grant you the right to bring proceedings in your place of residence.
